E-mail Hub Upgrade
Project Goal: Replace failing and unsupported hardware and synchronization software with new hardware. The new hardware will provide a multi-layered approach to manage the ever-increasing e-mail volume.
UNIX Consolidation
Project Goal: Move all agency applications, databases, web servers, utilities and file data hosted on various UNIX platforms over to a common AIX p595 hardware and operating system platform. The old hardware will then be decomissoned Doing so allows the SDC to save on power consumption, software costs, hardware maintenance costs, and provide added capacity that is needed to support agencies using the pSeries system.
iSeries Consolidation
Project Goal: Update the existing iSeries operating systems and associated hardware at the SDC by consolidating them onto a single IBM P6 Power System (model 595) platform. These IBM systems will be shared between both iSeries and pSeries LPARs which further consolidates the hardware platforms.
Distributed Systems Server Consolidation
Project Goal: Leverage server virtualization technology and blade center environments to minimize the variety of server hardware. This will mitigate existing issues with power, performance and support with the old physical hardware platforms.
Data Center Disaster Recovery
Project Goal: Development of the operational disaster recovery program to support customer agency business continuity plans while maintaining the ability to effectively respond to a disaster or other emergencies.
Service Level Agreement
Project Goal: Develop a baseline SLA to use as the standard while establishing the use of the inclusion/exclusion process allowing agencies to request specific services outside the baseline SLA. Monthly dashboards on S3, quarterly reports and an annual report will also be created for all service levels and any exceptions of services not met.
Billing Identifier Standardization
Project Goal: Upgrade the SDC billing system. This includes software and hardware upgrades as well as a restructuring of the billing account code and SFMA interface.
